Why do most commercial trout fisheries hold big pike? Well not every fly fisher, unfortunately, returns caught trout in the best of condition, so pike are a clean and efficient way of keeping unhealthy trout numbers under control but..... It also gives us the opportunity of some great winter Pike fishing! This is a tiddler at 15lbs but the Pike at Curley's run to almost double this! You can fish for Pike at Curley's using deadbait or fly but booking in advance is essential - limited rods available.

"I am not sure why I like Curley's trout fishery......but I do. I think it's maybe because it is an utter contradiction - a small water that fishes more like a big reservoir. The surroundings should be harsh and brutal, yet the people are warm and friendly"
